In April 1947, Swami Hariharananda Aranya saw the signal and at once decided against continuing further as his body frailed from age and years of penance started becoming a burden. On April 14, 1947, the end came peacefully, a fitting finale to a great and noble life.
Every year on this day the devotees of Kapil Math offers their respect to Srimat Swami Hariharananda Aranya by reciting slokas and reading verses from his books and scriptures.

Last day of Vaishakha / around May 14 every year
On this day Srimat Swami Hariharananada Aranya, confined himself in the cave in 1926 and lived in there till the last day of his life. He continued his secluded and austere lifestyle and intense spiritual practice in this cave. He began disseminating the message of Samkhya-yoga through books in Bengali and Sanskrit. From this guha he also inspired and guided seekers to tread Samkhya-yoga.
The members and followers of Kapil Math celebrate this day by reciting slokas and reading from Srimat Swami Hariharananada Aranya articles and books.

5th day of Kartika / around October 19 every year
In the year 1985, on Tuesday, October 19, Srimat Swami Dharmamegha Aranya left us forever. Every year on this day the devotees of Kapil Math, Madhupur, offers their respect to Srimat Swami Dharmamegha Aranya by reciting slokas from scriptures and reading verses from his teachings.
5th day of Pousha / around December 21 every year
Every year this 3-days occasion is celebrated during the month of December. The ceremony starts on December 20 with regular prayers (twice a day – morning and evening), various discussions on Samkhya philosophy, verses are read from different books written by Srimat Swami Hariharananada Aranya and his immediate follower Srimat Swami Dharmamegha Aranya.
On December 21, the second day of the ceremony, Swami Bhaskar Aranya, President of Kapil Math, Madhupur, gifts blankets and books to the financially weaker segment of the region. Each and every visitor who comes to Kapil Math on that very day, is offered a meal and prasad. Approximately, around 3500 to 4000 people are offered the day’s meal at Kapil Math, on December 21.
26th day of Pousha / around January 11 every year
On the 26 day of Pousha (January 11) Acharya Swami Dharmamegha Aranya’s mother Sadhu Ma’s death anniversary is observed by the disciples of Kapil Math. Mostly, the devotees of Kapil Math, recite slokas and pray for the peace of Sadhu Ma’s soul. This event is observed at Sadhu Ma Mandir (named Biram) which is just a five minutes walk from Kapil Math.
Presently the Charitable Medical Unit is functioning from Sadhu Ma Mandir, Biram. Various types of treatments are organised by the members of Kapil Math, Free alopathy treatment is organised six days a week and free homeopathy treatment is organised twice a week. Free medicines are also distributed to the respective patients.
Apart from general physicians often specialists from Kolkata, like Heart Specialist, Child Specialist, Dentists, Orthopaedics, Gynacologist are brought to Kapil Math for specialised treatments.
Last day of Pousha / around January 14 every year
On the last day of Pousha (January 14), the disciples of Kapil Math celebrates the very auspicious Pousha Sankranti, by chanting slokas and discussing about Samkhya, as explained by Srimat Swami Hariharananada Aranya and his immediate follower Srimat Swami Dharmamegha Aranya.
This day is also celebrated at Gangasagar, where the pilgrims from various parts of India and abroad assemble to take the holy dip at Sagar in the blessed remembrance of Maharshi Kapila.
